CV Boot replacment
« on: November 18, 2009, 05:20:06 AM »
I picked up a log between my A-arm and drive shaft and ripped the CV boot. Has anyone replaced one of these yet? Just wondering if I should take it to the dealer.

Was it the front or rear boot and was in the one near the tire or the differential?

I did the same thing but it pushed the boot down and luckily never tore the boot.  My friend did the same think on his Arctic Cat and the repair guy suggested just pulling the  boot back up and using a pipe clamp to hold it in place.  I haven't fixed mine yet but it is still covering the key components so I am not to worried.  I will have to address it before the next ride.  I would suggest trying to fix it yourself so if it happens again and you are lucky enough to not tear it then you will know how to fix it.

I was thinking about fixing it myself it appears you have to remove the wheel then the shaft. It is the rear by the differential.
